Removing a stubborn toilet tank lid can be a real challenge if it has been left undisturbed for a long period or if mineral deposits have accumulated around the edges. The critical approach is to work with patience and care to avoid damaging the fixture.

First, shut off the toilet’s water inlet and flushing to drain most of the water. This minimizes water leakage and makes the lid less cumbersome to lift.
